DSP Performing is an established Saturday Performing Arts School based within Wanstead High School offering a full curriculum in Acting, Dancing and Singing for ages 5 to 16.
Originally started as a Franchise of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, it quickly grew and developed into one of the leading LIPA Schools. With over 100 students attending every Saturday morning and a team of 8 teachers, the school took on the challenge of running as an independent organisation in 2014 under the registered company name of Da Silva Pearce Ltd.
Many of our students return year after year, not just for the fun lessons and the friendly caring ethos of the school, but also for the challenge of learning new technique with a team of vibrant teachers who are themselves are working performers.
Our very structured programme of teaching enables students of all abilities to progress as well as develop confidence, concentration and self-discipline – personal skills essential in adult life!
We offer two main showcase performances each year, one at Christams, and one at the end of the year in July usually at the Kenneth More Theatre (subject to availability).
All students are encouraged to take the Group Musical Theatre Exams with Trinity Guildhall where most achieve high marks earning Merits and Distinctions for their performances.
I am proud to say that the exam year of 2017 & 2019 saw all students who entered the exam achieve a Distinction.
We are the only Performing Arts school in Wanstead who have managed to achieve this.
